World War One Workshop

Makers of History present a World War One Centenary Workshop to help your school mark this unique historical event in a very special way!

Your children will discover why the Great War started and how it changed the lives of everyone living in Britain 100 years ago.

A WW1 nurse and ‘Tommy’ soldier will spend the day with your class and help them learn all about life during the war years, at home and on the Western Front.

Makers of History living history workshops use role-play, artifacts, hands-on activities, drama, songs and games to bring the past to life in an exciting, memorable way that involves every child in the class.

“Fantastic day, thank you. The artefacts, historical analysis, games, drama and craft covered a lot of skills.”

Our WW1 centenary workshop offers a colourful, fast paced full day of content, including the following sessions

Why is the World at War?

  • A Day in the Trenches
  • Life on the Home Front
  • Trench Treatments
  • Animal Heroes
  • Soldier Slang Game
